Question 1

Is HisabLekha suitable for footwear and shoe shops?

Accepted Answer

Yes. HisabLekha can track footwear by style, colour, and size, attach a barcode to each sellable variant, and carry the selected variant through purchase, billing, return, exchange, and stock workflows. HisabLekha does not currently market specialised left/right pair serialisation, width fitting, or foot-measurement workflows.

Question 2

Can HisabLekha track shirts, pants, jeans, and T-shirts by size and colour?

Accepted Answer

Yes. HisabLekha groups related apparel under a style and keeps each colour-size combination as a sellable stock variant. Staff can purchase, barcode, bill, return, exchange, and report on the exact shirt, trouser, jean, or T-shirt variant.

Question 3

How does size-colour inventory work in HisabLekha?

Accepted Answer

HisabLekha keeps a parent style connected to its colour and size variants. Each sellable variant can have its own barcode, stock quantity, selling price override, purchase price override, and low-stock threshold.

Question 4

Can HisabLekha track fabric by roll and metre?

Accepted Answer

Yes. HisabLekha tracks each fabric roll and its remaining metre balance. A purchase adds the roll length, and every recorded cut reduces the same roll so staff can see what remains.

Question 5

Can HisabLekha handle billing for stitched and unstitched suit shops?

Accepted Answer

HisabLekha can track stitched suits by size-colour variant, packaged unstitched suits as barcode-linked counted items, and fabric sold by length against a separate roll and metre balance. The suit-shop page also documents GST bills, customer balances, and supported returns or exchanges. Confirm the exact component deductions for each multi-piece set in a demo.

Question 6

Does HisabLekha support barcode scanners and label printers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. HisabLekha supports barcode-based item lookup and label workflows for sellable variants. A shop can assign or generate a barcode for a specific size-colour item and use that code during billing.

Question 7

Can HisabLekha run on a phone, tablet, laptop, and desktop?

Accepted Answer

Yes. HisabLekha provides a browser-friendly billing and stock workflow across phone, tablet, laptop, and desktop. The same shop catalogue, size-colour variants, barcode records, GST bills, and customer ledger remain connected; test the exact devices and permissions before rollout.

Question 8

Can HisabLekha scan a barcode with a mobile camera or barcode gun?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The supported mobile scanner can use a mobile camera for barcode lookup, and compatible USB/HID or keyboard-mode Bluetooth barcode guns can send values into billing. Scanner protocols vary, so verify the exact model, mode, suffix keys, lighting, and labels in a demo.

Question 9

Is HisabLekha under ₹1,000 per month?

Accepted Answer

Growth is free for 1 year from the day you claim the Launch Offer, and claims are open through 31 December 2026; once the free year ends, eligible stores can renew at ₹349/month or ₹3,490/year, with no automatic charge, keeping the monthly renewal under ₹1,000/month. The pricing page is the source of truth for plan scope, taxes, offer eligibility, and renewal terms.

Question 10

Can multiple fashion stores bill separately but sell in one checkout?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for a business that runs more than one shop on one account. HisabLekha can combine a customer checkout across participating shops while creating separate shop-wise GST invoices and validating how the customer payment is allocated. The pricing page shows which plan includes multi-shop features.

Question 11

Can returns and exchanges happen across stores?

Accepted Answer

Yes, between linked shops on one account. HisabLekha can link a return in one shop with replacement items from another participating shop while keeping stock, payment, ledger, and cross-shop settlement records connected. The pricing page shows which plan includes cross-shop returns.

Question 12

Can counter sales update online stock?

Accepted Answer

Yes, where the shop has set up its HisabLekha online store. The store reads the same stock record as the counter, so a counter sale changes the availability it shows and the same colour-size item is less likely to be offered after it has sold in the shop. The online catalogue refreshes about every 30 seconds, stock is checked again when an order is placed, and orders hold stock for a limited time; there is no universal real-time or no-oversell guarantee. Online-store scope depends on your plan, so confirm it in a demo.

Question 13

Can HisabLekha track clothing alterations and customer measurements?

Accepted Answer

HisabLekha has a documented alteration workflow for recording the garment, work description, promised date, tailor, status, optional charge, printable slip, and a saved customer's versioned measurement profile. The current v1 alteration jobs are online-only, and full custom-tailoring production planning is outside this capability page.

Question 14

What is HisabLekha?

Accepted Answer

HisabLekha is fashion retail software for Indian apparel, footwear, fabric, boutique, uniform, and multi-store businesses. It combines billing, inventory, barcode, customer ledger, purchase, reporting, and shop operations in one system.
